Account Deletion Instructions

Applies to the app & website (landing page): FamWake Family Alarm Clock

How can I request the deletion of my account and data?

You have the right to request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time. You can do this in two ways:

Note for anonymous users (without registration)

Since you have not provided an email address for anonymous use, we cannot assign email requests to your account. The deletion of your personal data (profiles, wake-up times) must be done in the app via "Leave family / Delete account". If you then uninstall the app, local access to your anonymous UUID will be destroyed and assignment will be impossible.

Option 1: Deletion directly in the app (for all users)

  1. Open the FamWake Family Alarm Clock app on your smartphone.
  2. Navigate to the Settings.
  3. Select the option Leave family / Delete account.
  4. Confirm the security prompt. Your account and all personal profile data (wake-up times, name, etc.) will be immediately deleted from the server.

Option 2: Request deletion via email

If you no longer have the app installed, you can request data deletion via email:

  1. Send an email to daniel.notthoff@gmail.com.
  2. Please use "Account Deletion Request - FamWake Family Alarm Clock" as the subject line.
  3. Please send the email from the address associated with your account, or provide the registration email address in your message so we can identify the correct account.
  4. Confirmed app users, their associated families, and all members will be completely deleted upon your request. We typically process these requests within 14 days.

What data is deleted and what is retained?

1. Automatic Deletion (Unconfirmed data after 48h)

Our systems use a strict Double Opt-In (DOI) process. The following unconfirmed data is automatically and completely deleted after exactly 48 hours without confirmation:

In general, we retain your confirmed data only until you either delete it yourself or request us to do so. The following data will be permanently and irreversibly deleted when you do so directly in the app or explicitly request it via email:

Since we generally do not need to retain user data for longer periods than strictly necessary to operate the app, no residual data will remain in our systems after such a deletion request.
