Account Deletion Request

How can I request the deletion of my account and data?
You have the right to request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time. You can do this in two ways:
Option 1: Deletion directly within the app
- Open the FamWake Family Alarm app on your smartphone.
- Navigate to the Settings.
- Select the option Leave family / Delete account.
- Confirm the security prompt. Your account and all personal profile data (wake-up times, name, etc.) will be immediately deleted from the server.
Option 2: Request deletion via email
If you no longer have the app installed, you can request data deletion via email:
- Send an email to daniel.notthoff@gmail.com.
- Please use "Account Deletion Request - FamWake Family Alarm" as the subject line.
- Please send the email from the address associated with your account, or provide the registration email address in your message so we can identify the correct account.
- Confirmed app users, their associated families, and all members will be completely deleted upon your request. We typically process these requests within 14 days.
What data is deleted and what is retained?
1. Automatic Deletion (Unconfirmed data after 48h)
Our systems use a strict Double Opt-In (DOI) process. The following unconfirmed data is automatically and completely deleted after exactly 48 hours without confirmation:
- App User Accounts: Unconfirmed account registrations in the FamWake Family Alarm app.
2. Deletion upon Request or within the App (Confirmed data)
In general, we retain your confirmed data only until you either delete it yourself or request us to do so. The following data will be permanently and irreversibly deleted when you do so directly in the app or explicitly request it via email:
- App User Accounts: Confirmed user accounts (email, password hash, Google login).
- Families and Members: Family groups created by you, as well as all associated member profiles and wake-up settings. (You can also remove these yourself directly within the app at any time).
Since we generally do not need to retain user data for longer periods than strictly necessary to operate the app, no residual data will remain in our systems after such a deletion request.
